Our farm, and what we will not pretend about
Every egg seller in Islamabad says the same four words: organic, natural, free-range, farm-fresh. Here is what those words mean at our farm, and where our claims stop.
Nest boxes and strawThe birds
Our flock is desi and desi-cross stock, kept at low density on open ground. They are out from first light until dusk. At night they are shut into a covered coop, because jackals and stray dogs are real here and open-air romanticism gets birds killed.
They forage, but foraging alone does not produce a healthy laying hen. We supplement with a grain-based feed we mix ourselves. No antibiotics as a routine growth measure, and no growth promoters at all.
Between the hen and your door

Morning and late afternoon. Eggs sitting in a nest box all day pick up dirt and heat.
Sorted, not washed
Visibly soiled eggs are dry-brushed and kept for our own kitchen, not sold. The rest go out unwashed so the bloom stays intact.
Stored cool, not cold
Unwashed farm eggs do not need refrigeration for the first week. We hold them in a cool room, not a fridge, so they do not sweat in transit.
Packed and dispatched
Moulded pulp trays, delivered on your zone’s fixed day, within 72 hours of laying.
Where our claims stop
We are not third-party certified organic. No credible, enforced organic certification body for poultry operates at scale in Pakistan, so any farm here selling you a “certified organic egg” is either using a foreign certificate that does not cover its actual practice, or is simply saying the word.
We could say it too. It would probably sell more eggs. We have decided not to, because the moment one claim on this page turns out to be untrue, none of the others are worth anything.
